Shades of Darkness
Even now, when the sun is in its highest position, it’s not sufficient for it to rise up over the horizon. The dark period has reached its climax and I now only have three hours a day where there is enough light to enable me to see the landscape in more detail, rather than mere faint silhouettes. The country remains in a sleep-like silence, enveloped by cold and twilight. I draw in a deep, cold breath and stare into the emptiness in front of me - another long night awaits me in this land without sun.
